I think you have the best bass tutorials on youtube. I’m an intermediate bass player who’s been playing for about 3 years and am currently using your slap and pop tutorials and I’m making unbelievable progress.. your videos are thoughtful, easy-to-understand and much appreciated!

@bottle2lip Not …
@bottle2lip Not fruity at all! And a really valid comment. Anything that lightly stretches you (Tai-chi/yoga/pilates etc) will benefit your tendons. And it doesn’t only apply to hand and wrist tendons. When I was gigging loads, and travelling in a van, myself and the guitarist would also stretch out before we did a gig. Whole body stretches. It really benefited our live performance, and kept us productive.

i know it sounds …
i know it sounds kinda of fruity. But i started taking bikram yoga with a friend of mine. I have mild carpal, mainly from computer use probably. But there are 2 or three poses in yoga that fix carpal tunnel over time, they hurt like a son of a if you have carpal though, but it works over time. Not to mention it whips you into shape like nothing else man.

Thanks for posting …
Thanks for posting this. I’ve began to search for stretch excercises after people posted experiences with tendonitis and similar ails. So today I got out and bought myself a handmaster plus to excercise my hand but I stil needed some stretch ‘n flex exercises to round it off. I’ll definitely keep this as part of my practice and gig routine – playing the bass as a beginner like me can be quite exhausting for the left hand.

When and how often …
When and how often should I stretch? I usually play around 10-15 minutes daily (due to my busy schedule) and for quick, random intervals. Is it really necessary to stretch each and every time I plan on noodling around like this?
