Yesterday I got my first guitar an acoustic guitar and I’ve looked on utube and other places where I can learn the basic chords and there basically there really hard to follow so can someone tell me where I can learn the chords at a slow pace because i’ve never played it before xx

Hey Claire, I started playing just under two years ago. I came across Justin Sandercoe, he’s an Australian guitar teacher who gives free lessons on his website. He’s considered one of the best in the world and I learnt most of what I know from his online tutorials, check his beginner lessons out and he’ll teach you some easy chords at a slow pace :)

You should go to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ and learn songs. As far as I know, it’s the best site for free guitar tablature. The tablature is written by users of the site, but most of them seem quite accurate! They have chords too, and show you a diagram of how the chord is fingered.

Hope this helps!

I play along with my wife. I went to a music store and purchased a book that shows the
chords and which fingers to use. It wasnt veeryk expensive and it is easy to follow.

Claire,
My suggestion is to go to a music store and look for a beginner guitar book. there are lots of options (online especially), but having a book made of paper is probably the best reference you cna have to refer to over and over again (which you will). Another viable option is to go to Amazon and find a book and pick the "look inside" option and maybe capture a page that shows G, C D, A, E, and minor chords of those (Dm, Am, Em, etc.).

Good luck.

Hey.. James here..

It wasn’t until probably the last six months or so that I’ve been able to play the guitar. I’ve always been very interested since a young age considering my dad and his brothers pretty much grew up on the guitar and drums. It’s always been in the family and when I would watch them play they always made it look so easy.. it seemed like almost a natural thing for them. I tried for years to learn how to play… tried to have my father help me, looked to books to teach me, spent hours on youtube watching people try to explain.. etc. Nothing ever really worked. I eventually gave up for a few years then just within the past year or so I became interested in it again when I would see all these girls just going crazy over musicians at shows/concerts… lol. So I started looking online and came across this website .. http://www.guitar.pcti-system.com … which is an online program with videos and the works that teaches everything you need to know to learn how to play.

It’s probably the best tutorial/instructional course I’ve ever seen… I learned how to play the guitar very quickly and now it seems like I can almost play songs by ear.. something my uncle can do. I’m actually planning on tryin to start up a band with a few friends of mine after I get myself a newer more expensive better quality guitar. But I definitely would have never learned it if it wasn’t for that course.

I hope I was of some help to you my friend, and I wish you the best of luck! Rock on.
