Not bar chords, but just open position chords. I have taught myself: A, Am, E, Em, C, D, G, and that took me an hour. So, how many, and what are they ( if you can name them from thin air). Thanks a lot.

Quite a few, more than most of us will ever want to memorize. Here is a link to a chord chart. I don’t know if it has every possible chord, but it is several pages long. Enough chords to keep me busy.
