@nicklassayshi Essentially all chords are built from scales. The D Major scale, for example, is D E F# G A B C# D (W W H W W W H) If you don’t know what this means, don’t worry. Basically every Major scale has 7 different notes, 8 if you include the octave (D, except higher). When you build the D Major chord out of the D Major scale, a sus2 or sus4 chord is just changing the 3rd note of the scale to the second or fourth, respectively. Suspended comes from the open, “suspended” sound of it.
