Hello there,
That is a rather broad question. Different types of electric guitars. There are hundreds, probably thousands of different models of electric guitars made in the past decade. What type are you interested in? Narrow down the possibilities and we can give you some comments.
Don’t know what an acoustic guitar is? That is a guitar that does not have pickups and is not used with an electric amplifier. Just your basic guitar.
There are nearly as many types of amplifiers as there are electric guitars. Hard to give you prices ranges for a thousand amps. What are you looking for and we can tell you more.
I don’t need you to tell me a specific model of guitar or amp. But knowing if you are looking for a beginner’s guitar or for an intermediate player would help. What type of music do you intend to play. What is your ball park budget. That sort of information would be helpful.

Hello again,
Thanks for the additional information. That is a tight budget so we need to do some smart shopping. Make your money go farther. Look for a good deal on a used Squier Strat or a Peavey Strat clone. You should be able to get either for well less than $100. Now for the amp, I don’t like the little practice amps. I think they turn more beginners off than they help. I think the speakers always sound thin and tinny no matter what brand. Beginners think they sound lousy and quit. They never know the problem with the amp and speakers. Look for the best deal you can find on a used 1×12 combo amp. A combo amp is where the amplifier and speaker is in the same cabinet. Ix12 means it has one 12 inch speaker. I have not seen a lousy speaker used in a 1×12. Vox, Fender, Peavey, Crate, Line 6 or Marshall. A 1×12 from any of those will be a decent sounding amp. I see used 1×12 combos sell on eBay at attractive prices, frequently under $100. Also, get an electronic tuner. It only costs around $10 and makes life so much easier.
