What are good songs to play with a piano and a guitar?
Me and my friend want to start doing some covers. I play piano and she plays guitar. I don’t want anything painfully mainstream. Any suggestions? We are both fairly advanced.

A good song (in my choice) would be Fields of Gold, by Sting. It’s pretty easy, but it’s a great choice for piano and guitar.

Almost any Beatles song can be covered well with guitar, piano and vocals. Some good Beatles (and post-Beatles) songs for that are Let it Be, Hey Jude, Imagine, Live and Let Die and Maybe I’m Amazed.

Queen songs are great for guitar/piano too. I like Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, and We Are the Champions.

If you want more modern stuff, The Scientist by Coldplay is great for both instruments and is easy to learn.

Also try jamming on I’m Shipping Up To Boston by the Dropkick Murphys (it’s the song from the Departed) if you want some punk/hard rock.

Blues rock is also great for guitar/piano. I like playing Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll by Bob Seger, and Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis.

Definitely give You Make My Dreams by Hall &Oates a try: that’s a pinao/guitar duet already!

I know how to play all these songs on piano and guitar, so if you need help figuring out how to play any of them just ask ;)
