it is not an tough task to learn guitar….it depend upon your interest that how long u take it to learn as if you do daily practice then i must say that you will soon grab the concept….its not necessary to have basic knowledge ……if you have it then its good other wise your teacher will teach you from basic……
electronic guitar is goo one but i must suggest you that for learning purpose you must buy simpler guitar ….after that you become perfect you may buy the big one….

Been playing music for 33years. Started classical piano when I was 8. Studied for 9 years, practiced 3 hours a day. Started guitar when I was 16. Trumpet when I was about 10. Choir, chorus and solo singing since I was 8. Been playing in bands and gigging out for over 20 years.
